An antique human skull specimen.
An early specimen, the skull cap uncut & housed in a hand blown glass dome on a gilt base. Likely preserved for either the over-shot jaw or antemorten hole to the right hand side of the cranium.
An acquired taste but it's worth considering that if specimens such as this did not exist, medical science would not be where it is today!
