A rare antique chemist display cabinet / bin for Turkish Sponges.
A beautiful, large Victorian mahogany pharmacy display cabinet with reverse painted gilt glass front panel, ebonised carcass, turned wooden handles & engraved makers plaque to the inner door.
The hinged door swings open to reveal the inner bin which when filled from above would display the sponges (loofah like natural sponges) from the front. Manufactured by the reknowned, 'Treble & Son', showcase manuyfacturers of Hoxton, London.
A beautiful & unique survivor, the likes of which are now showing up less & less!
Early 20th Century
Wear commensurate with age, showing numerous minor signs of its past, good overall.
