A fantastic large faux mahogany tailor's / outfitter's mirror.
A wonderful antique shop mirror, the unusually thick & heavy mercury glass mirror plate set in its original bull nose frame in the original faux mahogany painted finish. An unusual example & an excellent size.
1920's
Wear commensurate with age, untouched original condition. Frame structurally sound shows signs of expected wear & tear to the finish & paintwork, original ply back a little blown but sturdy & old woodworm treated as a precaution. Mirror plate has the usual minor foxing & has some scratching in places, most notably the upper part (highlighted last image), this is part of its past, common with these early shop mirrors & visible when caught by direct sunlight.
