A wonderful antique LNER (1923 - 1947) railway rack.
A beautiful rare survivor in solid mahogany, retaining the original 'London North Eastern Railway' lettering to the pediment & with a fantastic patina. In its day, the rack would have contained travel related ephemera & now makes a superb desk-tidy.
Formerly used by the London North Eastern Railway Company & a rare variant.
1920's
Wear commensurate with age, good overall with a few non original fixings & an old repaired crack along the pediment, neither of which detract.
