A beautiful group of three early mercury glass witches' balls.
Superb hand blown glass witches' balls with a reflective mercury coating to the inside, finished with pressed metal galleries & hanging loops. All three balls are early examples with the cobalt blue, emerald green & silver linings in wonderful condition.
Historically hung in a window to ward off witches & also used reflect the interior space in a shop to keep an eye on suspicious customers.
Just beautiful decorative items.

Excellent condition overall with the usual minor imperfections & pleasing areas of foxing, one with a differing gallery, all the same period.
