An early vintage Midland railway signal box block instrument.
In solid hardwood with a vitreous enamel dial, brass fittings & original internal workings.
This early block instrument would have been mounted inside the railway signal box & operated via electrical impulses to send information regarding congestion up & down the line. A wonderful piece of history & a fantastic display piece.
Early 20th century.
Wear commensurate with age, good overall condition, completely untouched condition. The box has a small piece of wood absent from the front panelling & another larger piece from the bottom left hand side though neither detract in the slightest.
