A wonderful, early antique cast iron & enamel advertising bowl for Hudsons Soap.
This beautiful early & novel piece of advertising was once commonplace outside grocers stores & filled with water for passing dogs. In thick, heavy cast iron with raised lettering, retaining traces of original paint & an enamel lining with the charming & iconic 'Drink Puppy Drink' slogan adorning the end panels.
One of the most reproduced pieces of advertising out there, so nice to come across an original!
Late 19th / early 20th century.
Wear commensurate with age with major loss to the enamel lining, structurally sound.
