Wire Mesh Pub Signs

A fantastic trio of original antique painted mesh pub signs. Three wonderful antique pub signs in brass mesh, overpainted with thick gilt paint & framed in their original pine frames in scumble paintwork. Each piece would originally have covered the exterior window of a tavern or bar while preventing damage to the glass & flies entering via the windows without restricting airflow. Rare survivors which make beautiful decorative pieces.
Early 20th century
Wear commensurate with age, in good, untouched condition. All frames solid but showing signs of age, expected light marking to the patinated wire mesh, some loss to the painted lettering, most notably to the 'Bar' sign. The 'Ales & Stout' sign has some light damage to ther mesh in the right lower corner as per last image.
