A fantastic & very rare vintage Anglepoise 1208 lamp by Herbert Terry & Sons. A stunning & very early lamp featuring a large heavy cast iron base, original 'crackle' finish paintwork & chrome plated arms. This model really was where it all began for the iconic Herbert Terry & Sons, production started in around 1935 & consumers were charged a then premium price of £4 for this, their flagship model. A handsome & timeless lamp wired in twisted black flex via the original Bakelite bulb holder.

Wear commensureate with age with associated wear to the chrome, clean, untouched & all original condition. This lamp is a genuine 'first generation' Anglepoise, the branding stamps to the elbow (as opposed to the lower fork on later models), pre drilled hole in the base, 'crackle' paint & chromium plated arms set this apart from later models which are very often retailed incorrectly. The 'Patent Pending' stamps indicate this a very early model indeed.
Height measurement of 90cm is taken in the classic position, the lamp extends to around 120cm fully extended.
