A beautiful early vintage railway signal box block instrument by E G Bartholomew. In solid mahogany with a vitreous enamel dial by J B & S Enamel Signs, oak handle & brass fittings & internal workings. Would have been mounted inside a Midland Railway signal box & operated via electrical impulses to send information regarding congestion on the line. A wonderful piece of railway memorabilia & a fantastic display piece.
Early 20th century.
Wear commensurate with age, very good overall condition. Unrestored. Bolt fastening the the case has lost its thread to a degree & does not tighten as it once did, this does not effect the piece in the slightest & the case fits snugly in place regardless.
