Webbed Feet ~ Wax Medical Moulage

An unusual original vintage wax medical moulage detailing 'webbed feet'.
Cast directly from the human body in affected & in some cases deceased patients using gelatine moulds, wax moulage collections were assembled by medical training facilities & museums to catalogue a variety of medical conditions. They were used primarily to teach medical students & were the most lifelike & accurate method of the period. This unusual example details the webbed feet or toes of the patient & comes mounted on its original linen backing.
A fascinating if slightly macabre piece, the perfect addition to the curiosity cabinet!
