Z Lamp by Louis Kalff for Philips

A 'Z' or 'Diplomat' table lamp by Louis Kalff for Philips.
An exceptional example of this an iconic design classic, commonly known as the 'Z Lamp', with a cast iron base, gilt brass upright & shade in the original factory finish.
Designed by the brilliant Dutch architect & designer Loius Kalff (1897 - 1976) who joined forces with Phillips in the 1920's & was tasked with modernising the companies image.
A timeless piece of mid century design & one of the best table lamps I've found to date.

Wear commensurate with age, very good overall, one of the best I've seen personally though showing expected minor signs of age as you'd expect (very light knock to rear of shade as pictured last image, the usual discoloration to the gilt brass). Full working order sporting a recent rewire in twisted flex These lamps work very well with silver-topped bulbs (no bulb supplied) & are a screw fit.
UK courier service available at £20 tracked & signed for 24 hour delivery.
All electrical items should be checked and / or installed by an electrician prior to use (this lamp has recently been rewired before it came to us).
