A bronze table lamp by F & C Osler.
A truly exceptional early Victorian lamp in cast bronze, the upright with subtle detailing to the centre supported by the base raised on four lions paws.
The casting is absolutely as good as it gets & the colour to the bronze doesn't get much better, just exceptional all round.
Known for their cut glass & in particular chandeliers & fountains (they supplied the fountain to the old Crystal Palace), F & C Osler were established in the early 19th century, opening an Oxford street showroom in 1845 & exhibiting at the Gret Exhibition of 1851. They regularly supplied lighting to members of the British Royal family & Indian Maharajahs.
Rewired in twisted flex.
Wear commensurate with age, excellent condition for a lamp of this age, cosmetically untouched.
