A unused copper railway wall lantern.
A wonderful thing which I felt very fortunate to come by, manufactured by V & R Blakemore of Birmingham who manufactured guns, locks & lanterns in the late 19th & early 20th century.
Purchased from a private collection, the lantern was a custom order though never wall mounted or used as intended & retains it's original hand-written paper label detailing its specifics & partial painted identification to the upper front milk glass panel, 'Muster Station Wall Lamp 120'2336' (designed to be removed after purchase). It was by repute, found decades ago in the original packaging in an old station store room which had laid untouched for many years.
In the original olive-green painted finish throughout, the side opening door has a a secondary hinged 'arm-hole' door so the lamp could be lit without opening the main door & retains its original Hinks Duples double burner & reflector. The chimney is in stepped copper & topped with a ball finial & decorative fretwork surround & sits above the milk glass panels below.
A super thing, I doubt I'll ever find another!

Wear commensurate with age, basically new-old-stock & never in service but has definitely had a life in storage over the years & has a few knocks bumps & scrapes as you'd expect & has a crack to a small section of the door panel glass.
Not currently wired for electric, although it will almost certainly be converted at some point, given its originailty, I didn't have the heart to do it myself!
UK courier service possible, please enquire for details.
