Early Gold Anglepoise Lamp

An early vintage Anglepoise 1227 lamp by Herbert Terry & Sons.
An exceptionally original example on the iconic 'two-step' cast iron base & in the original factory gold paint paint with a super patina, retaining its original Crabtree lamp holder.
This model really was where it all began for the iconic Herbert Terry 1227 or 'two step' lamp, production started in around 1938 & this 'crossover' model featured elements from both the earlier 'three step' & later 'two step' models. The slimmer profile, perforated shade, heavy steel arms & three-piece lower 'fork' set this apart from later models.  
A super example with bags of character.

Wear commensurate with age with associated wear and tear to the paintwork, particularly the base. Clean, untouched & all original condition, a genuine, unmolested first edition 1227. The lamp is in full working order having had a recent rewire, some wear to the cable here & there but only to the silk outer.
