An early Anglepoise 1209 floor lamp.
A fantastic & exceptionally original example, the cast iron trolley base in its factory black paint, the arms in the original chrome finish, retaining its original tulip shade.
Marked with the earlier 'Patent Pending' stamp to the middle joint, this 'first edition' floor lamp is distinguished by the earlier cast base with the flex hole, chrome arms & slimline wheels. These subtle yet distinct differences were quickly dropped in favour of the later, more familiar model & examples are now seldom found.
A wonderful, iconic lamp & an excellent unmolested example.
Rewired in twisted black flex.
1930's
Wear commensurate with age, an excellent example overall & one of the best I've found but approaching one hundred years old, it does have expected light wear & tear to the paintwork & some loss to the chrome (worst pictured last image).
