A rare early vintage Bauhaus table lamp by Christian Dell for Bunte & Remmler.
The 'Polo Popular', a wonderful & exceptionally original example of this rare German classic with a spun steel shade, adjustable chrome ball jointed arm & a cast iron base. With an exceptional age related patina to the original factory black paintwork, a handsome & beautifully engineered lamp of fantastic form, one of Dell's purest ever designs.
From 1922 to 1925, Christian Dell worked in the metal workshop in the Bauhaus in Weimar where he was the main man behind a pioneering & innovative form of design. In 1926, he began designing lamps which, when manufactured, used an exquisite choice of materials & precision engineering throughout.
Late 1920's
Wired in twisted black flex.
Wear commensurate with age, good condition overall, all paintwork original.
The lamp accepts regular bayonet cap bulbs, the lamp holder is a little stiff but perfectly functional & the green covering to the underside of the base is tired but again still perfectly functional.
All electrical items should be checked and / or installed by a qualified electrician prior to use (this lamp was purchased with the current wiring in place but is clearly a modern rewire & it is in full working order).
UK courier service available at £15 tracked & signed for 24 hour delivery.
