Dimensions:
A Charles Dudouyt table lamp.
A delightfully simple lamp of good form and scale, in oak & walnut, the base supporting a turned upright in a geometric pattern typical of Dudouyt.
Dudouyt drew his inspiration from tribal african forms, Picasso and folk art of the period, resulting in architectural style silhouettes that balance bold, squared forms with rounded carvings. His 'French Modernism' style lighting is as aesthetically pleasing now as it was then & fits in effortlessly anywhere.
A super thing
1930's / 40's
Wired in twisted flex
Wear commensurate with age, very good overall, totally untouched, the walnut upright has some age related cracking which is common in these lamps & doesn't detract.
