A railway station pendant light.
A wonderful railway station pendant light, the rivited copper frame glazed in opaline glass panels, the interior with its original vitreous enamel reflector and topped with its original spun copper gallery & hanging hook. Formerly used by Southern Railway on the Isle of Wight (Poss, Wroxhall), these exceptionally rare lights very rarely come to market & this is one of only a few original examples I've come across. A cracking looking thing surviving the Golden Era of the railways.
1920's
Wear commensurate with age, very good overall with the usual minor marks etc, fully restored & ready to use. Chain not included, some bolts & inner copper retainers later replacements, displays beautifully. Rewired in twisted flex with a screw-fit lamp holder.
