An early 19th century iron banded oak sliver chest.
A wonderful example in thick solid oak bound with iron strapwork & a hinged padlock hasp, finished with brass lock escutcheon & engraved plaque to the front. The oak has gained a beautiful, rich age related colour & patina, the sides are adorned with early painted 'J' lettering and the top & front panel retain partial wax seals from the days when it was used to hold valuables.
A nice example.

Wear commensurate with age, exterior clean & ready to use with a few old repairs etc, inside could be cleaned further & has been left as found with it's layered paper lining very worn.
