A set of 19th century bobbin turned mahogany wall shelves.
A wonderful & unusual piece of furniture in the campaign style, the four delicate solid mahogany shelves supported by bobbin turned uprights with brass finials top & bottom and hanging rings to the rear. Delicate craftsmanship & the finest quality timbers set this beautiful & versatile piece of furniture apart from the rest.
Likely French, c1880
Wear commensurate with age, displays beautifully with a few historic repairs to the shelves (see last image). These shelving units are by their very nature & design, always 'a bit wobbly'. They are designed to be wall hung from the top rather than stood on their base & as such are far more stable when wall mounted & loaded to some extent.
