A bank of Late Victorian mahogany apothecary drawers.
A fantastic bank of antique pharmacy drawers of good scale with reverse-painted & gilded, bevelled glass labels to the drawer fronts & all original faceted glass handles.
With a good depth of colour to the mahogany & vivid gilt & red finishing to the labels, it's highly unusual to come across a piece of this nature in this sort of condition. Once part of the fitted interior of Gilbert's Pharmacy in Newquay, England.
Wear commensurate with age, in very good yet unrestored condition, once part of a fitted chemist interior & the top & ends have a subsequent few marks where it was originally in situ. There is one label to the upper row which is not original but is a worn period replacement, slightly smaller than the others. Not waxed, polished or restored in any way, so nice to find one in totally original condition!
