Country House Sarcophagus Ottoman

A late Victorian country house sarcophagus ottoman.
A delightfully untouched & high quality example, raised on four beautifully carved feet & in the original velvet upholstery with just the right amount of wear. The hinged lid lifts to reveal a storage area within & the feet are finished with brass castors w& wooden wheels underneath. A super thing.

Wear commensurate with age, good overall & displays beautifully. A couple of the original wooden wheels to the castors underneath have worn flat & one corner of the lower trim has a very small amoubnt of old restoration (this is barely visible, see last pic, left hand side). Upholstery very good but could also easily be recovered to taste.
