Articulated Dentist Stool

An exceptional original vintage dentist's stool.
A superb & very unusual example, delightfully over-engineered & in the original painted finish with just the right amount of wear. The heavy cast iron base conceals three springs which allow the upright to pivot in three directions (this is the only one I've seen which has been designed to prevent the user from falling backwards as it will only pivot in three directions!), the sprung seat height is adjusted using the large handle & brass wingnut & comes in its original upholstery. A beautiful piece of industrial design.
