An early glass advertising sign for Spillers Nephews Biscuirts.
A charming gilt glass advertising sign, reverse painted & gilded in the traditional manner & set in its original mahogany frame with subtle reeded detailing.
Spillers Nephews Biscuits was established by Spillers & Bakers in 1894. The firm hit the headline more recently when one of their biscuits, a single survivor from a Titanic lifebots, sold for an eye watering £15000!
A very rare example which displays beauitifully.

Wear commensurate with age, good overall, a little wear to the reverse painting in places & an old repair to the upper back, brackets contemporary, ready to hang. Back historically overpainted & has an old fixing of some sort in the timber just above the word 'high', again doesn't detract.
