An original Edwardian Royal Mail cast iron post box.
A fantastic piece in it's original layered paint, manufactured by W T Allen & Co of London, the upper part embellished with the crown & initials ER VII (King Edward Seventh). It comes complete with it's original working key, faded black celluloid insert detailing the collection times & small 'Bank Holiday' enamel sign.
A wonderful, iconic piece of Great British architectural salvage which is now getting harder & harder to find!
Early 20th century.
Wear commensurate with age as pictured, totally unrestored. These we're built to last so this is rather heavy!
