An antique English leather fire bucket by Merryweather.
In thick riveted hide with its original leather handle, iron banding, a cracking coat of old red paint & gilt maker's transfer to the base.
Not something which turns up very often & a great decorative piece!
Late 19th century.
Minimal wear commensurate with age, good condition overall, some wear & tear to the handle fixing points & upper rim. Measurements do not include the handle.
