A large enamel gold miners bucket.
A bit of a rarity having travelled all the way from The Republic of South Africa, this huge, heavy duty mining bucket was, by repute, recalimed from the Beta Mine in Pilgrims Rest, the last mine to close in the area in the 1970's.
Purchsed direct from the only dealer I've ever met who buys direct from south Africa & imports to Europe, the bucket is a very heavy duty affair with 'For Mining Use Only' enamelled on the front, a cobalt blue rim & a thick wire handle with turned wooden grip.
A super thing of great scale & with wonderful history.
Mid 20th century
Wear commensurate with age, good solid condition showing only minor signs of age. Measurements exclude the handle.
