British Railways Cotswolds Oil Can

A sign-written British Railways oil can. 
Formerly used by BR in the Western region of Great Britain, this heavy duty oil can comes in its original red paint with the white lettering painstakingly hand painted to perfection around the upper section of the can. The base is also sign-written & confirms the can was in service on the line between Shipton-Under-Wychwood & Burford in the Cotswolds.
Things like this always grab me, the attention to detail & pride in workmanship on such a simple working object is just so completely at odds with todays hurried, disposable & poor quality replacements! 
A fantastic piece of railway memorabilia & a great decorative object.
Late 1940's / early 50's
