An unusual & decorative piece, the central brass sphere surrounded by articulated concentric steel rings & mounted on a hinged tripod base.
Historically, armillary spheres were instruments which could be used not only to carry out calculations ralating to the geometry of the heavens, such as the times of sunrise and sunset, the length of a day, and the altitude of the Sun or stars.
A super decorative & interesting piece.
