A fantastic large antique boot makers trade sign.
A wonderful piece of folk art which would have topped a sign outside a boot makers or cobblers. Made from a sheet metal which is likely zinc with traces of the original gilt showing through the worn painted finish. A super piece of history & a particularly good example.
Late 19th / early 20th century
Wear commensurate with age, untouched original condition, a couple of small areas of loss around the upper rim, very good overall.
