A glazed advertising sample display cabinet for Edgar Allen & Co of Sheffield.
An early & highly unusual sample display case, hailing from Sheffield, 'The City of Steel' & containing eight samples of cross sections of different steels sold by the company. The glazed case with its bullnose mahogany frame is velvet lined & retains all eight of its original Ivorine labels for each sample and a larger one bearing the companies 'Stag Brand' logo to the centre.
In a remarkable state of preservation, an extremely rare survivor & a wonderful piece in every way.
