A pair of cased taxidermy Scarlet Ibis.
A truly amazing pair, the striking South American bird specimens with their trademark vivid red feathers & elongated curved beaks, in glazed brass display cases with ebonised bases.
Probably my favourite taxidermy specimen I've bought to date, a chance to purchase something really special.

Wear commensurate with age, these display beautifully & the birds and cases are in good condition overall though both are early so do show minor signs of age.
The ebonised bases were remade to spec to replace the original ones which could not be saved, one bird has a bit of wear or ruffling to the feathers on the rear wing which may just be naturally occurring (see last pic) & one of the cases has has had later adhesive on the inner glazing.
