Ogdens Vesta Strike Enamel Sign ~ Guinea Gold

A scarce early antique enamel advertising sign for Ogdens Guinea Gold Cigarettes. A fantastic piece of adverting by The Protector Enamel Company of Eccles, featuring a textured vesta or match strike to the lower part. The sign would have been located just inside or outside a shop doorway enabling the customer to light one of his cigarettes when leaving. Glossy, in some great colours & featuring some wonderful typography & wording. A very rare surviving example of this diminutive piece of advertising!
Early 20th century.
Wear commensurate with age as pictured, excellent overall. Unrestored with a few small chips.
