A quartet of Italain lion mask wall hooks.
A beautiful run of four carved giltwood lion mask wall hooks, with the most wonderful depth of colour & patina with the roaring lions tongues making up the hooks. These are absolutely beautiful & not something you're likely to come across again!
Italain, late 19th century
Price if for the four
Wear commensurate with age, good overall. All ready to hang, one has an old stable repair to the hook where it meets the mouth as per last image. I think they were probably curtain tie backs or similar originally & although they are solid, I would not advise to hang anything too heavy on them.
