A run of three egg travel crates.
Fantastic old egg crates in the original stained finish, made by the Yonder Hills Sawmills of London & Chard Junction, stamped front & back with for 'Wiltshire Egg Producers Ltd'. With iron buckles & strap hinges, a great depth of colour & the perfect amount of wear.
The crates are divided inside and were used by the railway to safely transport eggs in large numbers.
Perfect for retail displays & general home storage.
Early to mid 20th century
Price is per crate with THREE remaining.
Wear commensurate with age, good overall, lightly waxed to preserve the finish, showing numerous signs of age with the chips, scratches, lumps & bumps making them what they are today, old woodworm holes treated as a precaution.
