A large double seater fairground pig.
A superb & early fairground carousel pig in carved & painted pine, exceptionally original with beautifully worn, original paintwork, super patination & a wonderful look about it. With beautiful carved blue ribbons front & rear and retaining his original, super curly iron tail, handle & mounting bracket.
With most of these old fairground rides much later & many of the earlier ones having been repainted over the years, he really is an absolute gem.
Provenance: Ex Christies 1997 'Tussauds Collection', attributed to Alfred Chanvin.

Wear commensurate with age, delightfully untouched with various old repairs etc, predominantly to the front left leg though all solid & weight bearing.
